I’d have to say this year’s Fourth of July celebration was the best Independence Day in my recent memory. My day was filled with friends, delicious food and my friend’s lemonade that would put Mike of Mike’s Hard Lemonade to shame.
I spent the day visiting with friends, including my very good friend Kendall who left DC for a big girl job in NYC, and all in all had a wonderful time. It was very laid back and low key. In the late afternoon, we left my friend’s BBQ to head to the Mall for fireworks. Time and luck were on our side because we found an awesome viewing space right by the Washington Monument. My Instagram wasn’t successfully uploading the pictures last night so here are some of the photos:
When I was home recently, my mother showed me this little gem of a photo: my dad & I on Fourth of July circa 1993. My dad is pretty stylish in those coaching shorts & reflective aviators! I’m rocking out the gingham for the parade.
I took this photo awhile ago but for all the politics geeks like me, this will surely make you giggle:
I hope everyone had a fun & safe Fourth of July!
