I know it’s been awhile since the last Food Truck Friday post, blame senior year & the insanely heavy workload! This Friday is fall break so I didn’t have classes and decided to have lunch with a friend I haven’t seen in awhile. We decided to visit the food trucks but when lunch time rolled around, the skies above D.C. opened and it started pouring! After debating about a back up plan, we ultimately went to Mixt Greens and I had a chicken Caesar salad, which was delicious. Soon, she had to go back to work and, of course, by that time the rain stopped and the sun was shining brightly. I decided to visit Farragut Square to see if any food trucks were still around. I didn’t want a meal since I just ate lunch & was full but luckily, I spied a dessert food truck I had yet to try.
Sweet Bites caught my eye because of its bright pink truck:
After a glance at their selection, I knew I wanted the seasonal Pumpkin Spice flavor. I carried the cupcake in a bag with me back to my apartment and I’m glad it survived the trip unharmed! I’ve had a lot of cupcakes in my life and let me tell you, this was one delicious cupcake. The cream cheese frosting was sweet without being too sweet and actually tasted like cream cheese, which is how I prefer it. The cupcake itself was very moist and practically melted in my mouth. It was a perfect combination of pumpkin flavor and spice. In short, this cupcake tasted like Sweet Bites baked autumn right into the batter! The cupcake cost $3.
