Since today is the first Friday of Lent, my fellow Catholics and I are united in not being able to eat meat on Fridays. In honor of meatless Fridays, I thought I would highlight a food truck lunch that offers a Catholic-friendly lunch so I selected Surfside!
Surfside has a brick & mortar location in Glover Park on Wisconsin Avenue but lo and behold, they also have a food truck! I was really excited to see this food truck since I love the restaurant food so much. Without looking at the menu, I knew what I wanted: fish tacos. Cooked with tilapia, Surfside fish tacos are piled high with rice, pico de gallo, guacamole, salsa and lettuce. I asked for extra pico because I like it so much! In total, I paid $9 for this meal but I ate it for both lunch and dinner so I was able to rationalize my spending.
But really, look at all this food!! It tasted so delicious and fresh, I had to stop myself from eating it all in one sitting. Usually, people associate food truck meals with meals that aren’t the most flattering for your waistline but Surfside hits it out of the park on this one, proving you can find a healthy meal from a truck!
Have you been to Surfside in Glover Park or to their food truck?
