Happy Monday! Since I landed back in DC from Thanksgiving in Arizona, I feel like I’ve been in a state of chaos. Between Thanksgiving, my birthday, holiday party season and Christmas, there’s just so much to do in just a month! I’ve been honestly flying by the seat of my pants (in my personal life, not my work life, just wanted to clarify) and finally this weekend I buckled down and wrote down every thing I need to do and every place I need to be from now until I board a plane for Christmas. Though having too many holiday parties isn’t a bad thing, especially when it means I get to wear some of my favorite pieces ; )

Faux Leather Leggings

I resisted the leather leggings trend for awhile but I am so glad I gave in. I’d been eyeing these faux leather leggings and decided to pull the trigger on Cyber Monday as an early birthday gift. Guys, they might be my favorite purchase of the year. They’re the comfiest leggings I’ve ever had and I’m actually wearing them as I type this post. If they were remotely work appropriate, I’d be tempted to wear them every single day. The front panel of the leggings are faux leather while the back panel are regular legging material so they’re flexible. I love how easy they are to throw on and pull an outfit together, even a simple white tee and flats.

City Coat

You know where the best place to shop for winter coats is? Arizona. I purchased this coat at J.Crew Factory on Black Friday for $98 and was seriously the only person checking out their coats section. It’s a teensy bit more expensive right now ($114) but so so worth it! With Saturday’s snow, I had a chance to break out the coat and it was very warm as I did some errands and pretended I was in a snow globe ha. I debated between the hyacinth and fuchsia colors but ultimately thought the hyacinth was a more unique color for a winter coat. I sized up to an 8 to allow room for layers. I will admit the asymmetrical zipper can be a tad annoying at first but I’ve gotten used to it after a few times.

Plaid Ankle Strap Flats

I love shoes as much as the next girl but 95% of my shoe collection are either black, nude, or navy. I needed to get some patterns into the mix and once I saw these plaid ankle strap flats from Talbots, it was a no-brainer. These flats are festive for the season and I’ve already worn them to work a few times when I had a holiday party that night. And they’re under $100 and available in all sizes! I’ll be wearing these fun flats all winter long.
