When I got my hands on swing top bottles, I wanted them to be both decorative and practical. I use extra virgin olive oil on a daily basis with cooking, I’m constantly reaching for it in my pantry. Why not turn olive oil into a rustic display for your kitchen counter? Surprisingly, it wasn’t a tall order to make it happen.
What You Need:
Swing top bottles
Small saucepan
Extra virgin olive oil
Rosemary sprigs
In the saucepan, heat up the olive oil over medium heat and add 5-6 rosemary sprigs. After five minutes, remove the olive oil from the heat and let it cool to room temperature. Take the sprigs out of the oil and place in the bottle. Fill up with oil and you can refrigerate the oil for up to 1 month.
It might be a little early to think about Christmas gifts but infused olive oil could work as a housewarming gift, a hostess gift or even just a thinking-of-you surprise. Branch out from rosemary and add red pepper flakes, cumin or even cinnamon!
