DIY Christmas Decor with IZZE

IZZE Can Ornament | dcgirlinpearls.com

Each year at Christmas time, I think about getting a Christmas tree. Not a full-blown one since I live in a walk-up but a mini tree to bring some Christmas joy and sparkle to my living room. Then I remember that I’m only here for a few weeks of the month and between work and holiday parties, December’s kind of a mad dash. But a home without any Christmas cheer is practically a crime! And definitely a one-way ticket to getting coal on Christmas morning. Thankfully, I’ve partnered with IZZE to show you how to recycle your IZZE cans to DIY Christmas decor!

I scooped up these glass jars from Target’s $3 bin and got to work with the IZZE cans. After finishing a can, I would thoroughly rinse it and place it upside down on a paper towel on my counter to dry. Then take a knife and pierce below the indent (About where it says “No added sugar”) and use scissors to remove the top of the can. Repeat the process at the bottom of the can. Be careful because the edges will be sharp. Then, use the scissors to cut the can into long strips. Curl the strips around a pen or pencil, pressing firmly for a few seconds to keep a tight curl. Repeat the process for each can (I used 6 cans to fill 3 jars). I then placed the jars around my living room, they look like Christmas ribbons! If you have a Christmas tree in your home, you could also create these “ribbons” and place them in clear ornaments to trim your tree.

How do you DIY Christmas decor?
