Last weekend, DC reached highs in the 60s and since then, I am convinced every day is in the 60s. Sadly that’s not the case but a girl can dream, right?
DC is notorious for its humidity in the spring/summer and I know my beauty routine will switch once the weather does. In anticipation, I thought I’d share how I (attempt) to stay fresh as a daisy in those muggy DC days:
In the winter, I use {Purity by Philosophy facial cleanser} but once the humidity arrives in DC, I use Trader Joe’s face wash. I have a thing about having my face feel clean. I absolutely cannot stand when I feel like I have oily skin and after a day in the DC heat, I am beside myself. When I wash my face with TJ’s face wash, I feel like all of the dirt accumulated from the day is gone and I can go to bed feeling refreshed.
Splurge alert: the small bottle costs $20 and the big bottle $40. However, DC water dries my hair out quickly and leaves unflattering frizz. Le sigh. I discovered {It’s a 10} on a trip to a hair salon and it worked like magic. I have tried everything (and I mean everything) to try to tame my hair…Moroccan oil, hot oil treatments but It’s a 10 works like a charm. Simply spray on damp hair and blow dry!
I wasn’t kidding when I said I cannot handle feeling oily or shiny. My pores lately also seem to think they’re back in high school and I’ve been battling breakouts. I’m 23, I thought my skin problems were in the past? Apparently not. I love the Neutrogena wipes because they combine makeup remover with acne-fighting cleansers. It’s a one, two knockout!
Do you switch your beauty routine for the spring?
