I made the very big mistake yesterday of looking at DC’s 10 day weather forecast and it sent me spiraling into a seasonally induced depression. Walking to work this morning solidified my fear: chilly, gray, rainy (and then suddenly snowy when I literally crossed the street) and just generally drab. In the winter, I’m big into hibernating. Couch + fuzzy blanket + Netflix = one very happy camper. Snowy and rainy outside? Yup, unsubscribe. Swipe left.
To prevent my winter hibernation from turning into a sad recluse state or a one-woman version of Grey Gardens, I deck my apartment out in colorful decor pieces. Considering I’m a renter and my apartment is pretty neutral, I love me some bright pieces to jazz it up and breathe life + color into my space. Nothing’s better than coming home to a bright, colorful and clean (usually) home! Bonus points if you made your bed in the morning. That’s always the best feeling, it’s like you can conquer the world that day because you made your bed. I am woman, hear me roar.
I’m in full-on hibernation mode for the next week so I may or may not have perused my favorite home decor sites for inspiration and bursts of color to chase away the winter blues. P.S. Oh Joy for Target‘s new line launched and it’s 🌈👌
