{2nd birthday}

Well, that was a tumultuous week. To recap, I switched my blog from WordPress.com to WordPress.org and what should have been a quick installation went awry. Ah, the best laid plans…

After numerous phone calls, live chats with IT people in Texas, and a couple teary-eyed phone calls to my mother, DC Girl in Pearls is back just in time for its 2nd birthday! I had planned a lovely birthday post but with the drama from my blog’s disappearance, that post fell to the wayside. Never fear, I will still publish the original birthday post but I figured I’d give you a little teaser : )

Why did I make this switch? Well, I’m growing up and so is my blog! In the coming weeks and months, I’ll be adding little touches and updates to DC Girl in Pearls including more about my everyday style, entertaining, decor, and adopted city. If you have an idea for a post you’d like to see in the future, email or tweet me. I’d love to hear your ideas.

I’ll be wearing my party dress to work tomorrow along with pearls, of course! Thank you for being so patient during the Blog Blackout and thank you for your lovely tweets! Ready to celebrate?
