Remember my fall get-together? My menu definitely leaned on the richer side of the meal spectrum with lobster mac ‘n cheese and pulled pork so I wanted to balance it with a simple cocktail that also worked with a fall theme. The real keyword here is simple, people. I was so worried about giving crockpot cookin’ a whirl that I just wanted a drink that would take care of itself. Hello, apple cider mimosas. You fit the bill to a T (for tasty).
Ingredients
1 bottle of Trader Joe’s Blanc de Blancs (or your favorite brand of inexpensive champagne)
1 bottle of apple cider
Cinnamon sticks + apple slices (optional for garnish)
Directions
Combine champagne + cider. Serve chilled.
If you want to make it interesting, you could also add a healthy pour or two of spiced rum to give your mimosas a bit of a kick. Another great addition would be a hard cider like Angry Orchard (my favorite) or Strongbow. Apple cider mimosas are about as easy as it gets to create a cocktail and the best part is they are very easy to multiply for a large audience (football tailgate, anyone?). Simple to prepare and seasonally delicious? Oh apple cider mimosa, you magnificent creature you.
