Three years ago, on a complete whim, I started this blog the summer between my junior and senior years of college. Looking back on early blog posts is sort of like looking at middle and high school yearbook photos. Some are pretty cringe-inducing : )
When I started my blog, I never expected anyone to read it. But lo and behold, I’ve made friendships, joined communities and learned skills I never would have if on May 14, 2011 I didn’t decide to set up a WordPress blog.
So what can you expect from DCGIP now that it’s turned the big 0-3?! Well, I’m going to get back in the swing of style posts, I’m working on a “Best Of” guide to DC and I’ve been working to teach myself web design to create a more user friendly experience. Whew, I could use a cocktail…
I’d like to thank my family, friends and readers for everything. My family for supporting my endeavors and pushing me to grow. My friends for eating the baked goods and sipping the cocktails I make for DCGIP. And most importantly, not yelling at me when I stop in the middle of a conversation for a really Instagram-worthy shot.
And to you, readers, thank you for your emails and comments. I never expected anyone to actually read my blog so thank you for visiting my little corner of the Internet. I truly love hearing from you and please, if there’s ever a post you’d like to see, I’m just an email away.
So what do you do to celebrate a party? Besides have cake, naturally…I’ll tell you what…
THROW CONFETTI!!!
I partnered with The Confetti Bari to create a customized confetti for DCGIP. Pour some bubbly, eat a cupcake and throw a handful (or two) of confetti in the air because fun things are happening on DCGIP and I cannot wait to share them with you!!
Enter below to win your own confetti to toss, I also really like the idea of confetti in a champagne flute for decoration!
Happy bloggy bday 🙂
