If you read yesterday’s post, you know I’m moving this weekend and my new apartment is a bit smaller than my current place. Which means lots of creative storage solutions. And on a budget.
I’ve seen IKEA’s Expedit series pop up on Pinterest and at several friends’ homes so I visited IKEA.com to investigate. And I fell down the IKEA rabbit hole. If you’ve been to an IKEA, you know exactly what I’m talking about. You go in with a plan and suddenly, my wish list was $300. #Yikes.
While I have fond memories of IKEA, a friend mentioned concerns that a room “could look too IKEA-y.” It’s true, IKEA is known for its college apartment vibe and can look cheaply thrown together. However, I believe a little TLC + DIY can really elevate an item to make it truly you.
Googling IKEA hacks, I fell down another rabbit hole. Who knew there were so many IKEA fan sites?? Not this girl that’s for sure. IKEA Hackers has awesome ideas and even a search on Pinterest will give you ample inspiration. I can’t wait to share with you my own Expedit styling, stay tuned!
