{Cottage Glam}

Last summer, I moved into a 500 sq. foot studio nestled in a charming DC neighborhood. For the first time in four years, I did not have a roommate and I could decorate to my heart’s content. Or rather, to my budget’s content.

The inspiration for my decor came to me quickly but I wasn’t quite sure how to describe my vision. At first, I tried “Cottage Chic” on for size but it just did not slip off the tongue naturally. “Cottage Chic” sounded like cottage cheese, which I do not enjoy in the least. So it was back to the drawing board!

knew I hit the nail on the head with “Cottage Glam.”

“Cottage Glam” describes a space with natural, rustic, country pieces paired with bolder splashes of color and sparkle.

You can find  earlier posts of my studio {here} and {here}. I love being able to come to my studio after a long day and just be. My studio is my oasis in DC and I love having a “cottage” in the middle of a city!

I have a great portion completed and now I am looking to add the details and finishing touches. You can find more of my inspiration on my {Cottage Glam board}.

In the mean time, I hope you’ll visit again to check on the progress!

    Love the term Cottage glam! I think I recall you saying your studio is in GP… how did you find it? Craigslist? An apartment management company of some sort?

      Actually, I made a list of the neighborhoods I wanted to live in and just walked around the neighborhoods looking for “For Rent” signs. I tried through Craig’s List a bit but I didn’t have much luck with that though I’ve had friends who were successful!
